Me and my friend call this place MM its the short for Mega Mendung. The real place is Desa Paseban, it is located in the mountain in Mega Mendung, Bogor, West Java, Indonesia.
Sometimes a go, I come back to this place together with 2 friends of mine, Philip and Wono.
I know Wono from long time ago, because we went to the same natures club at high school. I am basically his senior :p .. as for Philip, he is a traveller and I know him from the couch surfing community.
It is been a while I am not coming to this place, perhaps the last time was last year or around early this year. Well I guess it was around early this year. I went with my 2 colleagues.
Pak Eman and the family always welcome me and my friends whenever we visit them.
We are staying at his place for one night, and he can also be our guider if we want to go to some places that he knows.
Usually, I go here during the weekend. My normal activity is hiking to the river, get bitten by silly leeches or Pacet... the most horrible creature on earth (if I may said so).
besides going on a hike, we can also go to some waterfalls there. There is Curug Ciblao (Curug is waterfalls in Sundanese) this is the closest waterfalls to Pak Eman's house and there is Curug Panjang. But Curug Panjang has been made to a tourism place for this couples of years :( the local or somewhat the goverment or forestry also take part on building this place to become a tourism spot.
There are many facilities in this Curug Panjang area, there is camping ground, outbond activities like flying fox etc, and you can also do a little hiking here.
Near Curug Panjang, there are many other waterfalls, not to big but its quite tall. I dont recall their names, because there are too many of them.
It was a good thing that the weather had been so friendly with us.
Because Pak Eman told me that the weather had been so crazy for the past few weeks. The rain always falling down almost every day..
*I might bring sunshine to this village for a little while* (haha...)
Here are some images I could capture during the trip there.
Kids in Desa Paseban, perhaps they look they have nothing..
but as a matter of fact.. these kids "maybe" the richest kids in the world.. they all feel happy about themselves
Pak Eman started business in breeding goats since about 2 years ago
it begins with only 1 or 2 goats, and now he got many of them..
Well done Pak Eman !!!
This is the power turbine for the electricity at Pak Eman's house
He assembled this magnificent engine yet so simple, from many recycle items.
He learn how to build it from other people and he build it himself.
FYI, there are NO electric power that runs by the government in this small village. So some people has to build their own power turbine for their daily electricity.
This is the organic farm at Desa Paseban.
